Ko Lanta

So, we've come to a slower island than Phuket.

Now I understand why! The beach is rather ordinary, yellowish sand, rocks, and too shallow for swimming. BUT! It's got a different 'vibe': more backpacker/ hippy cool. So we are paying a godd bit of money Thai-wise to stay in a bamboo bungalow which is a 2 minute walk from the beach--there's just a little fan (no AC), which means the afternoons from 12-4 you feel faintish from the heat, try to sleep, and just wait it out. The bathroom is outside, so you shower under the stars (as well as go to the toilet...) :)

The place offers great yoga classes every morning on the beach, for a mere 5 euros, so I've taken them up on the offer. They also have great food,, again right on the beach. For those interested, they also have bang lassi.

We've decided we're tired of moving around, and want to just stay put for a week or so, slow down from all the travelling, and just get bored. We've read Marie Claire, Biba, and Alexandre Dumas in the last two days. so, nothing to report other than I'm slowing down, sleeping alot, and spending tons of money (because it all adds up and by the beach is expensive, relatively. that is, about 40 euros a day).

Believe it or not, Im actually nostalgic for winters, with spiced wine, fireplaces, and snuggling. What was that they said about the grass being greener?

love cyn
