No Carb Left Behind

Here is my dear Jean Yves, after having discovered that, in the shopping Center in Krabi, they had---of all things---a Swensen Ice cream parlor, straight out of the mid-west USA. So, he thought he'd make up for all those calories he had burned while snorkeling.

But then, just when leaving Swensen's, he discovered there was ALSO a Dunkin Donuts and he felt a personal responsability to the local Thai people to taste test the donuts, just to make sure they were getting the right, proper donuts. His judged the chocolate-coconut cake donut to be up to standards.

To finish off the culinary events of the day, we ate at the local night market stalls, and you can see the great joy JY felt when seeing his Tom Yum soup with seafood, and Cynthia's fried Holy Basil (no, I'm not making up the name). We are, needless to say, putting back all the weight we gained when meditating at Kopan and being sick after Indian food.
